East Asian Soccer picks Ten of the Best personalities and players in the 2016 Asian Champions League.
Number 5 – Ji Xiang
Twenty-five year old Ji Xiang represented China in the Asian Cup last year in Australia. The midfielder is skilful in possession and looks to organise the team in last year’s Chinese Super League.
Ji will play with Brazilians Jo, Teixeira (formerly of Shakhtar Donetsk) and Ramirez (ex-Chelsea) this year. He’s not known for scoring goals and will do most of the dirty work. However in 2012 CSL, Ji Xiang broke the record of the fastest goal in CSL history when he scored only 7 seconds after kickoff against Guangzhou Evergrande.
Though Jiangsu scraped into the Asian Champions League via Chinese FA Cup, they are well placed alongside Binh Duong, FC Tokyo and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.
